What is the Missionary Market?
The Missionary Market is a resource for our missionaries to take all the items they need for their upcoming time on the field. These items are new and arranged like a store in a room called the Missionary Market. The items range from personal care and clothing to tools and children's games and toys.

Why do we have a Missionary Market?
The Ladies Missionary Fellowship of First Baptist Church has been helping meet the needs of missionaries all around the world for over 50 years. Founded in the 1950's, the ladies of The Fellowship gathered together creating projects and crafts that visiting missionaries could take back to their field of ministry. |

Through their ongoing interaction with the missionaries, they saw many of them were returning to their mission field with a large amount of unmet needs. So with limited resources the Missionary Cupboard was developed. It soon grew into a ministry that missionaries could visit when home on furlough to get items such as office and school supplies, reading material, linens, kitchen supplies and many other items that were not readily available to them.
Over the years we have seen The Cupboard evolve into a ministry that continues to meet the ever changing needs of our missionaries from around the world. When First Baptist Church moved to our current facility in 2005 The Cupboard received additional space to continue to grow as well as a new name.
The Missionary Market more accurately reflects the expanded list of items that we now offer to our missionaries. We now carry a large selection of tools, toys and games, computer supplies, small appliances, and Pampered Chef items along with many more supplies to meet the needs of our missionaries.
It is our privilege to be able to allow our missionaries who are home on furlough or just simply passing through the area to “shop” The Market free of charge. It is a blessing and honor to serve our missionaries in this way. |
