Subject: CONDITION OF KENYA

Dear Praying Family and Friends,

Here is the latest update on our conditions here in Kenya. As of yesterday and today most of the country is calm. I personally feel it is because of hundreds of family and friends like you who are uplifting us and Kenya in your prayers.

Mr. Kofe Annon (former UN secretary general) is here with a few other international people to help the two sides to work out their problems.

Just about an hour ago an update came over the news lines.\ Mr. Kofe Annon said he has gotten these two men (President Kibaki, Mr. Riala Odinga) to set down and to start talking things over. Mr. Annon said that for the first time since he has been here the two men are calming down.

He said it looks like the two men may come to an agreement. He said by Monday he should have more news to give us. Then on Tuesday Mr. Annon and the two men will meet with Parliament to discuss what has been done so far.

Where does this put you dear folks?

  1. Keep the prayers going up just because we had two days where the killings and the burning of houses has slowed up does not mean that all the trouble is over.
  2. Please pray for Mr. Annon as he continues to work with the two parties.
  3. And of course keep praying for Marty, our churches, and I.

PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW.

Bearing Precious Seed in Southern on our last furlough had give our ministry hundreds or Bibles, and Roman and Johns (marked edition).

Here in Kenya we still have 500,000 misplaced people who fled their homes when the gangs hit. They basically fled with the clothes on their backs.

Pastor Patrick Ngei called and ask me if I had any non perishable food, Bibles, and clothes. Our churches have been taking up these items to give to the Kenyan Red Cross and then the red cross gave these items to the Faith Baptist Church in Nakuku (missionary Robert Mickey). This church pass out the food and clothing and of course the Bibles. The report came in this afternoon that with the Bibles we gave to the large refugee camp 13 received Christ as Savior. And then Faith Baptist Church baptized 7 of these precious folks. Thank you

Bearing Precious Seed and to all of you who are keeping the prayers going up. So in closing at present here in our part of Nairobi it is calm.

Together for souls in Africa,
Larry, and Marty Stringfield
