Missionary Bio:

Larry was one of ten children and comes from a Methodist background. He attended church as a child but never heard the Gospel there. At age 9 he was invited to go to a Child Evangelism class, heard the plan of salvation for the first time, and was saved. When Larry was 12, he attended Gull Lake Camp and saw a missionary showing slides from the Sudan . On the last night of camp he gave God his life, and God called him to Africa . While he was in college a missionary asked him to pray about the need for missionaries in Kenya . Larry didn't want to go to Africa , so he ‘ran away' to become a youth pastor. Eventually another missionary confronted him with his need to answer God's call to Africa , and he did.

Martha was raised in a Christian. In third grade, she made a profession of faith and was baptized, because all of her friends were. During her teen years she began having doubts about her salvation. She was saved at the age of 14 at an evangelistic meeting, and was re-baptized at age 19. The Lord began to work in her heart regarding missions through the influence of missionaries Wayne and Betty Snell, and a friend who was going to be a missionary. She went to Cedarville to train as a missionary school teacher. She served in Ghana as a single missionary for 16 years, teaching MKs and teaching English in the Bible School .

Larry and his first wife Michelle served three full terms in Kenya , and the first year of another term before she passed away. Larry and Martha were married in April of 1990 and are serving the Lord together in Kenya .

There are now 6 fully self-supporting churches in that area of Kenya .
