Nature of ministry:
TWR is able to reach many places where American missionaries are not able to go, including China , India , Angola , Mozambique , and many Muslim countries. In China whole villages and towns have been converted to Christ as a result of radio broadcasts.

Missionary Bio:
Larry grew up in a Christian home and received Christ during DVBS at age seven. He sensed God's call to full time service at Bible camp at age 13. God lead him to LeTourneau College for technical training and eventually to Trans World Radio.
Virginia was saved at the age of five at a Sunday School rally. She was also raised in a Christian home. At the age of 16 at Bible camp the Lord spoke to her and she felt His call to serve Him full time, although she had no idea how at the time. She had known Larry as a child - his father was pastor of the church her family attended - and after they began to date, they felt the Lord wanted them to share their life together and because of Larry's training and interests they began serving Him through missionary radio.
Larry and Virginia spent 4 years in Bonaire where Larry served as a transmitter technician with TWR, and 18 years in Swaziland , where Larry ministered first as transmitter engineer and then as chief engineer. They have been in Elkhart since 1990.
Larry's role is to provide technical equipment and consultation for missions, local churches and believers overseas to help them communicate the Gospel via radio and the internet, usually in languages other than English (over 200 languages) to people who very often can not read or do not have the freedom to hear the Gospel in any other way. He makes occasional trips overseas to install transmitters. He provides consultation for various transmitter sites and for other technical issues, and researches, orders or fabricates replacement parts to keep equipment operational at the various TWR facilities.
