Missionary Bio:

Dale was saved during his junior year in high school. Up until that year he could not recall ever hearing the Gospel of Grace. Through the witness of fellow students he heard the Gospel and came under conviction of his sin. Some time after his conversion he was baptized and joined the church. It was during his first year of college at a secular university that he sensed God was directing him into the ministry.

Karen was taken to church throughout her childhood, but did not hear the Gospel. It wasn't until she was seventeen that she came to know Christ. She joined a church and was baptized. During the annual missionary conference at her church she was deeply challenged to serve the Lord on the mission field. She can remember praying often during that week that the Lord would allow her the privilege of being a missionary. He has continued to keep that desire in her life.

Dale attended Baptist Bible College , Clarks Summit, PA, and the Missionary Division of Baptist Bible School of Theology. He spent one summer with MAP in Haiti with Baptist Mid-Missions. Karen taught for three years at the Summit Baptist Academy .

The Marshfiels have been involved in church planting and theological education in South Africa since 1982. They have been involved in starting four churches. The church they are currently working with, the Phoenix Fellowship, will soon have its own pastor and become autonomous. Dale was also Director of the Baptist Bible College of Natal during the early 1990s.
