Dear Praying Friend,

Trust in Him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us. Psalm 61:8. It's a wonderful truth to know that our Lord is a refuge for our souls. Times are troublesome, but the Lord is the same all the time.

Mother's Day Celebration:

During the Spanish morning service there were all kinds of participation. Sylvia's group of children sang a special song for the mothers. Then the children handed out carnations to all the mothers present. Many testimonies were given about events revolving around their mothers and how they had guided them through the years. The pastor with a panel of 5 women presented a message using the acrostic "MUJER" (woman in Spanish) with emphasis on the responsibilities of a woman's role in the family and society.

The men planned a special lunch for their wives and families after the morning service. Not too many men cooked, but the rest did buy a variety of items to have a nice buffet for them. We men all helped in setting everything up and serving.

El Salvador:

Just recently I receive statistical information from El Salvador about different aspects of the church growth in CAM Churches that includes some 150 + CAM churches with 36 mission works. They reported for 2008 that 3,257 people made professions of faith. Of those, 1,942 have already been baptized.

There is joy in heaven over sinners who repent and trust the Lord. Thanks for praying with us for those results. It is encouraging to us also.

Chapel:

This week will be the last chapel service at Continental Industries. Too many people have been laid off. The ones remaining work two days a week. Some only work until 1:00 PM. With so few working, I talked with one of the owners and decided to suspend the chapel until things pick up again. I have left New Testaments and Gospel tracts with most of the Hispanics. Keep praying that the Lord will continue to minister to their hearts. The Sovereign Lord is in charge.

Family:

Sarah and Carlos are back safely from El Salvador. Upon leaving El Salvador the plane had some mechanical problems but was fixed after a two hour delay. They arrived late at O'Hare Airport and got home at four in the morning.

Prayer items:

May            - Teaching "Eschatology" at the Bible Institute Bible

May 14           - Chapel at Continental Industries

June               - Teaching "Eschatology" at the Bible Institute Bible

June 14          - Mission morning at Roann Christian Church near Wabash, IN

Prayer is always a necessary ingredient in the ministry. It is communication with the Head of the Church over what He would like to do in our lives and in His people. Thanks for keeping us in your prayers. They are appreciated:

In the Name of our soon coming Lord,
