Nature of ministry:
The Geurinks are ministering in an area near the border with Brazil and Peru in Sao Paulo de Olivenca. There is a church there that is really growing, and working with this church is their primary ministry. They are involved in discipleship and training the people to reach out to the outlying areas. There is an established work in that area with the Ticuna Indians. Working with this tribe will give them experience with this kind of work. According to the Brazilian government, there are over 50 tribes known by the government that have never been reached by outsiders, and many others who have been reached but still do not have the Bible in their own language. They would like to use the aviation ministry to reach these tribes.

Missionary Bio:
Michael was born into a family with a strong Christian heritage. Because of this heritage he heard the Gospel early and was saved at the age of three. Michael's parents are involved in full time ministry with Baptist Children's Home and growing up with this influence exposed him to the reality of God's blessing and provision when we are in the center of God's will. He surrendered to the Lord's will for his life at Crystal Lake Camp while in the fifth grade.
Katrina was born born in Virginia to missionary parents and went to Brazil at 13 months. She was also saved at the age of three. Her parents encouraged her to be very involved in their ministry and the Lord used this to give her a burden for Brazilians. She has known since she was nine that the Lord wanted her to return to Brazil as a missionary.
One way that God has specifically led in Michael's life has been to give him a love of flying. His focus has been in acquiring skills that will allow him to use aviation in whatever way God would have. Michael graduated from Bob Jones University with a BS in Missionary Aviation, and an AAS in Aircraft Maintenance. Katrina also graduated from Bob Jones, which is where she and Michael met. She received a BS in Children's Ministries and an MA in Counseling.
