Michael & Katrina Geurink - Brazil- back - February 2008 If you did a Nexis search on our prayer letters and updates and personal emails, the words "scrambling" and "whirlwind" would come up often. I was going to use them again for this one. Let me tell you first that God has blessed us with a Wonderful vacation at D&D Missionary Homes in St. Petersburg, FL. Very relaxing; we REALLY needed that. We made some great new friends. Now we're itching to get to work. I lasted until the halfway point before taking on another project. We asked you to pray about our housing and transportation needs while here in the States. You prayed; God answered, and as we've come to expect from Him, all in His perfect timing and beyond what we expected. God provided for us a bus to live in as well as a dinghy (car) to tow behind it for local transportation. The bus needed a deeEEEEEPPP cleaning (smoke and dog hair), and I ended up ripping out the carpet and putting in a nice bamboo floor. We found out the hard way yesterday that the fridge needs a bungee to keep it closed even while executing low G maneuvers on the interstate. Milk and water and mango flavored Tampico juice have baptized the floor. It's now the Baptist Bus I guess. Last night was our first night. Those are three munchkins on the pull-out couch and one on the floor. That's not the permanent setup, but it'll do for now. I was able to get the water system going and even the water heater for showers. We're still adjusting and tweaking here and there. We're currently anchored at Camp Gilead in Central Florida for a few days before a trip up to the frigid north country (South Carolina & Georgia) next week where we'll be visiting supporting churches, family and the ABWE Air international headquarters. I need to have all the furnaces running well and make sure that our water system won't freeze before that trip. Thank you again to all who prayed about this need, and a big thank you too to all who volunteered info about RVs they knew of and to Steve who even offered his own RV for us to use. That's a big step of faith knowing the miles we'd put on it with four kids under 7! Next big prayer request is that God will supply the financial support we lack before we head back to the field. Coming back earlier than we had originally planned cut into our church contacting time, but now that we have something to live in and travel with we can concentrate on scheduling. Please pray that God will lead us to the right churches and individuals. Michael & Katrina Geurink - back - archived letters -
