Nature of ministry:

The Barnard's ministry through Lifeline is to at-risk youth, the weak, the poor and lost, the brokenhearted, the unchurched and the orphaned. Lifeline has separate clubs for boys and girls, and for elementary, junior high and high school ages. The workers and volunteers spend a lot of time with them, demonstrating the love of Christ, and what loving adult relationships should be, as opposed to what many of them see at home. They have a sports facility with a gym, weight room, and small group rooms. They have a lot of fun with the kids, and also have a discipleship time where they teach them Bible based life skills in small groups, and introduce them to Christ. As they disciple them they try to get them into local churches. The kids spend a lot of quality time with adult volunteers, who show them the love of Christ. Many of these kids have been molested, or left with other relatives and don't see their parents much. They work with severe cases and with kids who are just from poor families that can't support them well. And they all need Jesus.

ifeline also has a camp ministry in the summer, where young people are taught the elementary truths of the Gospel to those who have never made a decision for Christ.

Missionary Bio:

Growing up at-risk, unsaved and unchurched gave Brian a passion for the lost and brokenhearted. For the first 19 years of his life, he knew virtually nothing of Jesus. He was a thief, hooked on drugs, and at times suicidal. When he heard the gospel at 19, he received forgiveness of his sins and his life was never the same.

However, after being saved, he never developed a prayer life, read the Bible or became involved in a Bible believing church, and this was a major set back for him. Since these basic spiritual disciplines were not part of his life, he struggled in many areas. At the age of twenty-five, God brought him to First Baptist Church , and he began to mature in his walk with the Lord and felt called to minister to youth. In 2003, he graduated from Bethel College with highest honors. Then, in 2005, the Lord opened the door for him to minister at Youth for Christ full-time.

Andrea was saved at a young age and grew up at First Baptist. She naturally reaches out to the poor, lost, brokenhearted and unchurched. She desires to follow God and to do whatever the Lord wants her to do. Andrea considers her support of Brian's ministry to be God's will in her life.
